There is a Hotel California in Rosarito, it was built after the song. There was a Mental Hospital in Camarillo, California, but that wasn't the inspiration either. It was simply a metaphor.

if you mean the one from the eagles song then i dont think it is a real place. the eagles used the term "hotel California" as a metaphor for the high life they experienced in the west coast music industry.
