Question: i like the time as it is.but the government says "put them forward an hour or else"why do we have to do it?????????????????????????????????????? cant we stick as we are?

All i know is is that it has something to do with farmers and bringing their crops in. All i know for absolute sure is that it is a complete and utter head f**k. All i worry about is whether I lose an hour or gain an hour of sleep!

In effect it moves an hour of daylight from early morning when most people are asleep, to evening. It means the sun rises one hour later and sets one hour later.
This saves substantial amounts of energy, and gives us nice light evenings.
It's to take daylight further into the evening and was originally tried so that farmers could get more done in the fields. During the second world war they tried double summer time - that must have been really weird.
