My husband was given 100,000 for being injured in iraq. We also get 900 a month on top of his regular paycheck for social security aaaand I get paid 1200 a month to take care of him annnnd we were given 10,000 from another fund for him being injured aaaand weve been given about 30,000 from ANOTHER fund since he has gotten hurt in increments of about 5000. So yea, pretty much. For us it wasnt worth it though. He lost his leg.... but the money is nice. We paid off all our debt, paid off our cars, bought a boat, and put away the rest. <3
