Why is there no defining STYLE for this time period.....???!
Question: Everything is all mixed up. They keep trying to bring the 60's the 70's or any retro thing back but these generations were the ones that created the sound of music and the style of that period.
You watch American Idol and you see how the contestants look and sound before they "Make it to Hollywood" then as soon as they make it to Hollywood, all of a sudden they look punk but when you hear them sing.....it's just plain old, watered down Pop music. They have like 5 stylist creating their style....meanwhile, back in the day, these musicians created their own style.
Are people too lazy these days to make their own statement instead of stealing something that has already been done in the past?
What are we creating now that can define the millenium peroid?

the seventies are something that should DEFINATELY NOT be forgotten. people try and create their own style, yet somehow its already been done and there is always someone there to point that out.
I think the style of our time will be decided after-the-fact. Decades from now, people will look back to this timeperiod and decide what the defining style was.
