DId you know, that a lot of professionally-made studio recordings of songs, can be stripped of their vocals leaving only the instrumentals, by simply "inverting the tracks". If you have a buddy who's well versed with computer based sound recording technology, have him invert your tracks for you.
Recording studios, when they master tracks, they lay down the base track of instrumentals (Stereo L+R) and then lay down one track of vocals over one track (L) and layers and exact opposite copy of the same vocals on the other track (R). The result is, when you invert a professional studio track, the vocals cancel each other out leaving just the instrumentals.
Where live recordings are concerned, I can't help you there. Or try any popular music search engine program, (like the one synonymous with "lemon-string" and phonetically sounds like "smile-wider") and type the song title one of the names of the artist and the word "instrumentals" and some leads will pop up. Hope this helps.
