How cool was it to be an 80s kid?!

Question: I love that I got to experience being a kid in the 80s, the films, tv shows, everything about it was just so fun - for all age groups.
What do people think of the cr@p that is on tv now? Also, does anyone else agree that children are growing up to quickly?

Airwolf, A-Team, Thunder Cats, He-Man, Knight Rider; List goes on.

Enough said.

Ah, Raggy Dolls.
+Super Ted, Banana Man, Danger Mouse, Finger Mouse, Geordie Racer......................................

I loved the 80's and still stuck in them musically to a degree. Been buying up all the Brat Pack films on Ebay and my 11 year old loves them as much as I did then.

Some of the fashions make me cringe now but on the whole the 80's were fab!

I agree with everything you've said.

Did you get your 'Flight of the Navigator' DVD from the newspaper on Saturday?

It was very cool!

OMG! I loved the 80's!!! iam still in the time warp & love it!! Er no i dont mean the Timewarp song by Damien in 1987, The music was great!! So was the TV!!!

I feel sorry for todays generation with the music they have now. Most of it is hashed up music that has 80's samples in it & the song is ruined.

i can't believe nobody's mentioned Knightmare ! i loved that program when i was a kid. they do sort have have a version of it now - Raven on CBBC, but the original is still the best. i also loved watching Phillip schofield and gorden the gopher when i got home from school. didn't Dogtanian and the 3 muskerhounds get shown when they were in charge of the 'broom cupboard' ? that was another program that i really loved.

CBBC have recently made changes to their programs and links, and a lot of the changes can be compared with how they did things in the 80's. they even have a guy doing the program links who's got a puppet sidekick called Oucho (oucho is a cactus..) and incase anyone thinks that i'm a saddo for knowing these things - i have a good excuse. my son likes to watch it ! (well, it's my excuse, and i'm sticking to it !)

TV was so innocent back in the 80's as I grew up.The adult stuff was things like The Two Ronnie's double meaning jokes, Kenny Everett and Benny Hill.Quite harmless when you look at the stuff that's on TV today.
I think kids grow up too quick, mainly due to games they play on the computers.I refuse to buy games for my kids that aren't suitable for their ages, then they go and borrow them off other kids.
80's tv and music *smiles*,happy days. The Generation Game, Hinge & Bracket, Open All Hours, It's A Knockout, Why Don't You?...,The Tube, Pop Quiz.....I could go on all day.
Recently I've been buying cd's that I had on vinyl in the 80's.My youngest son who's 11 has been downloading them into his phone.

Hi there

Yes the 80's was cool but the clothes and hair were terrible.

Today everythings about image and everyones rude to each other.

Best wishes
