Well, pros would be that your school can make some money off of it. And it would be enjoyable for the students. It would draw in people that wanted to watch the show.
Cons? It may cost a little money and time.
Ideas. You kind of answered them on your own. You could sing, but, don't do it if you don't intend to practice the song you want to perform. Or you could do a coordinated dance with some friends.
A great idea, actually, would be an air band. You would have someone play a song from a CD on the sound system, and then pretend that you're singing it. Get someone to bring in drums or a guitar and have them in your band, too. It can be a lot of fun, and people love it! Plus, you can't mess up!
