The Squier looks to have a floating bridge, and as a beginner, you DO NOT want that. the Ibanez looks fixed. floating bridges are used with whammy bars. Those were used in alot of older music, and as far as i know, are not very popular in music today. the way that the bridge kind of "hangs out" in an unfixed state, makes the guitar very difficult to tune. Once you tune it, it will fall out of tune, and continue to do so. If you keep it in standard tuning ALL THE TIME, it should be ok, but, many many songs do use alternate tuning, such as drop D, and that can totally mess up life when you have to tune the guitar to something else, and back again, or anything really. I have an ibanez gio, and after playing for a while, I relized how much floating bridges really do suck.

ok, I'm done with my rant. are you ordering offline? It would be good to go into a guitar center and ask the dudes there about the pros and cons of each one, and definetly bring up the word "floating bridge". If i am mistaken, and the ibanez too has a floating bridge, than you can really go with either one. Ibanez and Fender compete with each other.

I'm so glad you're learning guitar! It is a great instrument and is loads of fun to play. Your fingers may get sore, but don't get discouraged. Maybe all the guitar hero and rock band toughened up your fingers a little :) Good luck!

Edit::: I actually read more into the Ibanez, and it has a fixed bridge. You like the Ibanez look, and the bridge shouldn't give you any horrible problems. That looks like the way to go!

Go for the squier
