backstage passes are not sold, and rarely get you access to the star as seen on tv and movies. The easiest way to get a backstage pass is to work at the venue, as either a member of the local crew, or on the promoter team. Either of these jobs will get you backstage, neither will usually get you to meet the talent (and if you do bug the talent, you'll never work there again). The more difficult way is contest or guest passes. Contest passes are self explanitory. Guest passes are usually given to people of some importance on the tour including the talent to give to people they know. You have to know someone to get these though and they are rare and few between. Either of these passes will usually get you to the talent, but a contest will probably get you to a meet and greet or some sort of exclusive party. Backstage can be kind of boring. in 2000 i worked an N'sync concert and they kept those guys locked in a room more or less. In all my years of backstage though, i have rarely seen people back there that shouldn't be.
