It is an area that is not black and white. The test of time or test of the experience has not been accepted or rejected by a certain group of people or, a person...
Many laws are black & white. Some have loopholes which provide oportunity for the violator to get off...and these loop holes can also be a grey area due to the reader questioning the intention of the writer...at the time of the writing.
I beleive this is how "Spirit Of the Law" came in to effect...
Sometimes medicines are created and tested to a certain limit. They may have a percentage of success but not all cases can be classified the same way either so it becomes a grey area...
