Any recommendations for a good sci-fi series?!
Question: I'm looking for a good sci-fi series. I like Star Trek and Star Wars. I've also enjoyed Red Dwarf, Cowboy Bebop, and Outlaw Star. I don't care much for Stargate. I liked Firefly.
I'm looking for one with a continuing story (like Firefly, not like Star Trek), it can be live-action or animated. Preferably made within the last 10-15 years. Any recommendations?
PS: I like Star Trek, but I've had enough with self-contained episodes... I prefer a longer plot.

Talk about structured plot... end of season three and hello! But can't go spoiling the story for you ;)
There are interspersed character-developing episodes in the series too, so you don't feel like you're watching '24' and something or someone is always about to blow-up or get shot.
Plus the set and effects are great, helped by a credible unfolding sci-fi plot. Anyway, enough said, check it out and see for yourself! There is a reason they remade the original series and took off from there!

EDIT - I don't remember arguing over what had happened or was going to happen over any TV series until this one came along. Had to buy the DVDs as they kept putting it on late night here. Doh. But oh so worth it!

why not join one of the many role play by email simming groups out there, for the various sci-fi genres. PathFinder Alliance is always looking for someone to boldly go where no one has gone before. Why watch someone else's story when we can make your own!
A good series is the 4400. Yeah, its not space opera type sci-fi in the Star Trek/ Star Wars genre but a more contemporary series. me, I can't wait for series five
