sit on the tolilet with a piece of paper and a pen..

i just started and i just wrte about what i want to happen or my day or something like that

didn't you just ask a question about the size of your willie?

Some people can write great lyrics, others good tunes. It's unlikely that you can do both . Find which you are best at, and stick to that for a while.

start making up cords or beats with any instrument and make lyrics

find something that inspires you like a book.

write a song based on something that inspires you, such as a historical event.
example:
edmund fitzgerald by gordon lightfoot

get a great book about songwriting such as
"the art of writing great lyrics"
by
pamela phillips oland

join a songwriter association in your area

if you don't have a songwriters association nearby
you can join KSA
( knoxville songwriters association )
and have approximately
1 song per week "critiqued" by KSA members
for only 30 US dollars per year

KSA has a MYSPACE "knoxvillesongwriters"

having your song lyrics critiqued will help you get your songs under control
so you can then set music to them
so this is really very helpful

to join KSA
send a check or money order for 30 dollars
along with
20 lyric sheets with the lyrics of ONE song
and an SASE with enough postage for the members to mail your critiqued songs back to you

KSA
PO BOX 603
knoxville,tennessee 37901

hope that helps
