Question: we used to get a can of hairspray from the shop and a box of matches ,
spray loads of laquer on the wall , and then ignite it ?
once it was burning , we would spray it on the flames , to produce a flame thrower ,
then we used to chase people with the hairspray with 3 foot flames shooting out , lol
they were the days ,
anybody else do the same

My older brother used to chase me with a lit can of hairspray, he used to light his farts too.
Nope never tried this one, you mush have been a wee hoolagan lol

lucky u..lol..i never did anything so major..my parents always hid the matches from me because i was amased by fire..i thought it was somewhat 'pretty' (when i was little).

I surely did other real stupid things though. lol
I thought I heared a burglar in my shed one night and went to investigate. My problem was that I didn't have a torch, so I used the old can of hairspray and a lighter trick.
There was no one in the shed as it turned out, but had there been, he'd have been burned to a flippin' crisp!
ah yes the classice days of hairspray and fire... those were the days... now the hairspray is just used for my hair lol

We did nothing quite so radical .... which is maybe why I survived this long :-)
In the privacy of our own back garden we used to get an empty tin with a push-on lid (e.g. syrup tin), press the lid on hard, make a small hole in the top and bottom, fill it with gas, put it on the ground and light the gas escaping from the hole in the top. After burning for a few seconds, the whole thing would explode with a satisfying ringing sound as the lid and tin hurtled in different directions.
There you go - a whole lot of fun but tame by comparison with flame throwers.
