Who was the first person to ever amaze you on the bass guitar?!

Question: mine was Stu Hamm.
he was on TV performing with Steve Vai.
i was 13 at the time and i just started playing guitar.....i traded it for my first bass three weeks later after watching him play.....that was 13 years ago.
just want to know if anyone else has had a similar experiance?
and because of who?

I remember being in amazment seeing John Entwistle (The Who) playing "lead bass" is as best as I can describe it!! All finger action with some serious fret work...like I said "lead bass" is a good way to descibe it I guess.Excellent bass player..no doubt.
Later in life Billy Sheehan(Mr. Big /David Lee Roth) live was an experience....on album was excellent, but to see it live...ooohh man!!
John Entwistle...excellent talent...mind blowing for me!! Thanks to my Dad for turning me on to it!!

dude awesome the same thing happened to me. i was around 7 and i started playing guitar but thought it was lame and hard and then i saw Mike Dirnt [green day bass player] and was just like bass is amazing!!! i'm 14 now & i love the bass all my friends and i play both guitar and bass.
