What is a good first electric guitar?!
Question: I have been playing on an acoustic guitar for a couple months, and i am pretty good, but i want an electric. I am getting one for my birthday, but i'm not sure what kind to ask for. I am thinking of an epiphone, or a Fender Strat, but i dont know if those are good. Please Help with suggestions. Are brand names better or is it just for the brand name (Squier-Fender)

i got an eletric guitar last year,and it was my first one too.
i partly went on how it looked,because i have to play it.
brand names are great,but at the same time you dont want to spend lots of money on something if youve only been playing for a short while,after all,you might want to give it up.
i have a washburn x-series,and i think its fantastic.
the most important thing is the sound.
you should deffinatley go into a music store and ask them there,because they'll be able to help you out and find what your after.but you should have a budget.
of course if you are going to buy something like a fender,the prices will go up but you will know your getting quality.
