Upgrading pickups for Les Paul Special?!

Question: Was thinking about upgrading my stock humbuckers in my epiphone les paul special 2 for a pair of duncan aph-1's or at least just the bridge for now (I don't have a lot of money)

1. Will i even be able to hear the difference in a starter guitar like mine?

2. If not am I just better off getting a good amp?

Sorry for long question and thanks in advance!

When you buy a guitar, no matter what you spend, its best to keep it original. You never know when they become rare or hard to find, more trade in or selling value. The more original the better the value. Now if you want to experiment go ahead, just remember, its your guitar. Buy a good effects pedal and/or amp and try the wide variety of sounds before you change the axe.
