That's what you need, so you could have the lead singer play guitar too, so that you only need 3 people!. I think it is better to have 4 people though and the singer can play guitar too if they want but more of a back up guitar, not lead!. I would say maximum of 5 in the band if you want a keyboard player of something!. You can have as many lead singers as you want, but usually there is just one, and the bass player usually can do back up vocals!. Have fun =)Www@Enter-QA@Com

it really depends on what sort of a band you want to start!. if its a rock band then have no more than 5 - 6 people!. 2 guitars 1 lead singer, 1 bass player, 1 drummer and maybe 1 keys player!. but if you want to focus on a more band aspect then one of the instrument players should be a singer!. but you don't really need a keys player but its really up to you!. the minimal number of people in a band is 3!. a drummer, bass player and a guitarist and one of those people to sing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
4 or 5
1 rhythm guitarist
1 lead guitarist
1 bass player
1 drummer
and maybe a keyboardist or just someone who can sing or play another instrument
but if you have 4 people in a band you usually have a rhythm, lead, bass, drummer and one of them sings (or they switch off)Www@Enter-QA@Com

i've been planning to make a band too soooooo!.!.!.
u can go get a one-man-band! yey!
obviusly u only have to get one lead singer, unless its a duet(boy + girl)
you'll need wat most bands have: guitarist, bassplayer, keyboardist, drummer!.
depends on u really, since sum bands have 2-3 guitarists or bass players, or 2 keyboardist!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Uhmm!.!.!.I would say anywhere from 2 to 6 people in a band would work (more could work but only with a variety in instruments)!. I would go with one lead singer and around one or two back-up singers!. More than one lead singer might be akward (fighting over parts, more harmonies, etc!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com
The set up me and my friends use is:
1 Lead Singer (That's me!! :D)
1Drummer (also a back up singer)
1 Lead Guitar (Does some back up singing)
1 Rhythm Guitar
aaaand we're still looking for a bass player!. It can work without one, but having bass player helps!.!.!.
