What is the fastest way to learn how to play the guitar!?I have heard about a program called music master pro at musicmasterpro!.com but im not sure if it actually does help!. I need something that is inexpensive and i dont really care if it takes alot of practice cuz i am dedicated to become a great guitarist like Eddie Van Halen or Eric Clapton(like thats goin to happen but i can always try)Oh and im not one of those ppl who will give up either!. Sadly there is no -fast- way!. Get a book, learn some chords (to start) and practice practice practice!.
If you have friends who play the guitar, have them over and ask them to show you a few things!. The better you get, the more you learn, the more they will be able to show you and teach you!.
There's no substitute for practice, though!. Take it easy at first 'cos your fingers will be tender!. In a month or two you'll build up callouses and then you can practice 2 hrs a day if you want!.
The thing about the guitar is that most good jazz/blues/rock/country guitarists are self-taught!. I can tell to watch them!. A trained guitarist is trained to keep his left thumb behind the middle of the neck!. A guitarist who wraps his left thumb over the top of the fingerboard is self-taught!. Watch for yourself and you'll see that most pop music guitarists do this! This isn't to say that they figured it out -all- by themselves, but they learned by themselves at least long enough to make that bad habit!. If -they- can be essentially self-taught, you can do it too!. You just have to really want to!.
