epiphone sg is an amazing guitar looks great and its not too pricey, it's amazing for a begginers guitar and it suits EVERY type of music for its sound and feel!. les pauls are great too but it might be too heavy for a begginer!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
A lot depends on what kind of music you plan on playing!. I would recommend a fixed-bridge Ibanez S or RG series, of all the guitars I've played I find Ibanez's to be the most comfortable and easy to play, which is what you'll need as a beginner!. Stay way from locking tremelos, they can be a real headache for beginners!. I wouldn't spend all $1000 on a guitar though, a good amp is just as important!!Www@Enter-QA@Com
