They are given the choice of swearing on the bible or making an affirmation!. Either way to lie in court is perjury and they are liable to be sent down for it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I'm an atheist - and I've had to give evidence in court!. As an oath on the bible is meaningless to me!. I simply had to raise my hand and say "I affirm" - which just means that I'm bound by the same oath, just without the religious stuff!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Yes they do!. They don't always have to swear on a Bible (depends on the legislature) but they are required to answer truthfully once they swear to do so!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
