Does playing the drums come naturally ?!

I play the drums and have since i was 7yrs old!. My Parents started me on them because i was pounding on everything when a good song came on!. My teacher said I was one of the few that had natural talent for the drums and most of his students had to practice practice practice!. Most of those students played awesome by the time the course ended!. I know you can do it!. PS---I would love to play the guitar but it looks so hard!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Drummer's have to have a fantastic sense of rhythm- they can carry a whole orchestra!. You can develop what you have, but there's a certain amount that is inherent and you either have it or you don't!. Certainly playing one instrument makes it easier to play a second, so give it a go if you want to try!. But I think you can get away with less rhtyhm with any other instrument but drums, I played the flute, but could never do the drums, I am totally in awe of drummers!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I have known a few drummers and the common factor seems to be that they are ambidextrous!. My son is a drummer and he plays tennis with his right hand but writes with his left!. He is a left right handed golfer but uses his knife and fork etc as a left hander!. The other drummer friends are similar in these respects!. None can read music but have an exceptional instinct in where to accent various drum breaks or rhythms!. My son did also practise a great deal with head phones on drumming along with well known bands!. He drums for a rock band that is constantly touring Europe!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you have an understanding of rythmn and timing from the guitar, you'll have an easier learning curve!. But greatness dosent come easy, practice practice!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
