Honestly, I don't think so!. I'm sure they would have a following, but I doubt they would have the chance to reach as many people and become as successful!. Chance being getting singed or receiving the right promotion from their label, since they may be busy with their "cookie cutter" artists!.

When I saw the documentary, it really made me think about all of the "good" artists that won't even get a chance and the music industry as a whole!. I understand music is a business, but my perception of the record industry wasn't so positive before I saw the documentary, and it hasn't changed much!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think there is hope that they would succeed!.

But the only example of this comes from England!. On the predecessor to American Idol, Pop Idol, Gareth Gates came in second-place!. He has been a lifelong sufferer of stuttering and he has made no secret of it!. He has it under control and sings beautifully (yes, I know, these Idol shows are usually pretty bland and cheesy), and, more relevant to your question, was accepted by the audience wholeheartedly!.

Not the most applicable example, but like I said, it gives me some hope for the world!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think that "Before that Music Dies" was one of the most important and influental things that happened in music!. It is true!.!.!.there are two different things in music!.!.!.there is commerce and then there is music!.!.!.you seperate the two and you decide which side you stand on!.
Music is always going to be alive and I believe that one thing that is going to keep it truly alive will be the internet!. I believe in the Stevie Wonders and Erykah B's!. There are too many good artists out there for us to even fathom that real music is going to die!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Would they be given a chance to succeed!?
I would like to think so!.!.!.for two primary reasons:

True talent is undeniable!.

Genius is irrepressible!.

These two remarkable talents really weren't initially marketed as "pop" acts, but their genius ability transcended genres and turned them into pop icons!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i hope so!. it would be a horrible reflection of the industry if they weren't, since they are some of the best musicians of their genre ever!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

stevie wonder came on "that girl" by pharrells video!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.which is like todays music!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

edit

ohhh!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.then yes!.!.!.!.i think they would be given more attention cuz theyre blind!.!.!.!.!.(i hope i answered your question somewhat relevantly)Www@Enter-QA@Com

There would still be a market for their music even if they were not successful in the pop charts!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
