Songwriting & copyright?!

Hi, I am coming some difficult times and as ever, I have been writing songs!. I write all kinds, all styles, all walks of life, love, hate everything!. I have about 800 songs scribbled about!. I had some contact with a producer from a BBC show and he was very impressed with the quality!. I did nothing about it as usual, but now I am getting it all together to be a songwriter!. How do I go about it!? Do I need a website!? I dont trust the post it to yourself form of copyright, any advice, Thanks!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
