Question: My five year old son is starting violin lessons!. Help with the 'sizing' of the instrument needed please!
I cannot read the form the teacher has returned to me!. It says size ''20'' i believe!! How are violins sized and what would be the approximate correct size for an average sized five year old!? Cheers and Have Fun :0)Www@Enter-QA@Com

If it helps my daughter is 10 and on a 3/4 size one, we rent it too!. He would need the smallest size!. No idea what the 20 means though sorry!. I would have thought he would be on a 1/4 - 1/2 depending on how big he is I suggest you go into the school and ask for the letter to be explained more clearly!.

Take him into a music shop and try him with that size violin, the person in the shop will help you choose the best violin for your son!!!! Hope he enjoys learning!Www@Enter-QA@Com
