In England, most of the songs that are sung with a strong regional English accent are pretty low-brow!. I'm talking football (soccer) chants, nursery rhymes, etc!. Hymns don't really count because they are usually sung as part of a large group!. So, when somebody wants to sing "nicely", they will elongate (or shorten) their vowels and eventually all sound the same!. Sometimes retaining your regional accent can make you sound like you're singing a folk song if your voice is nice as most music genres don't accomodate for differences in accent!. You wouldn't be able to tell that Cheryl Cole has quite a strong Newcastle accent when she sings and it would probably make her sound a lot different if she did!. Most people aren't even conscious of the change in the way they sound, it's just natural!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I know, it's the weirdest thing!. Like Keith Urban sounds "American" in his songs, but his definetly an Aussie! And Amy Winhehouse!? You don't hear any British in her songs !.!.!. NO NO NO! =PWww@Enter-QA@Com
