What piece of equipment do I need for live performance? Please help ASAP?!

Question: What piece of equipment do I need for live performance!? Please help ASAP!?
I am new to the whole entertainment business so I need some solid advice!. I am a manager of a singer and guitarists and we have a gig this Friday!. I have some equipment and I need to know what else I would need for the show!. All I have is two heavy duty GemSound TR-12 speakers used for karaoke!.
TR12 features include a 225 Watts, Three-Way System: 12" woofer with high temperature voice coil!. Three Bullet super tweeters!. High compression horn!. Inputs: Dual 1/4", Banana & Binding post!. 3-Way crossover!. Carpet finish, steel corners, heavy duty handles & tripod mounting!. Frequency response: 44Hz-18kHz!. Sensitivity: 99 db!. Impedence: 8 ohm!.
I also have a pretty typical Pioneer stereo receiver, a large amp, and a mic with stand!. What other pieces of equipment do I need if any to have a good show!? I would prefer if I could hook both the guitar and the mic up to the GemSound speakers but if that is not possible I can hook the guitar up to the amp!. Please let me know as soon as you can!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It depends on the size of the venue, and what the venue provides!. For a larger venue, you're really going to want and need to hire a sound man!. Larger venues also typically have the mixing board and PA already!.

Does your amplifier/receiver have a mixer and effects built in!? If not, you're going to need a small mixer at a minimum!.

Your ideal setup also depends on whether the guitar is acoustic or electric!.!.!.If it is acoustic, get another mic (like a Shure SM57) with a boom stand/bendable arm and place it near the acoustic hole of the guitar!. If it is electric, I honestly would NOT run the guitar through the PA speakers, just use their amp!. You can prop the guitar amp up on a chair if you need it to carry more!.

Karaoke mics really aren't very good and will do your professional musicians a disservice - have them invest a little in something like Shure SM58 (see http://www!.musiciansfriend!.com/navigatio!.!.!. ) - it's the gold standard for taking a beating and giving decent live vocal quality!. For a guitar use an instrument mic like a Shure SM57!. Both are under a hundred bucks each, and they're a very solid investment that you can use for many years to come!. You can often find both used at a music-go-round, but you never know what you're getting, definitely try them out first in the store!.

I'd also try to get there early and do a sound check for balance!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
