Jack Smith awoke with a start!. He could hear sirens but it wasn’t only in his dream!. The streets of New York were alive and he was just one man added to the mess in a back ally!. Closing his eyes, he tried to shake the image away from the inside of his eyelids!. His mother weeping, fire fighters and police men everywhere, all he could do was stare as an ambulance blared its sirens and took his father away for good!.

yeah i would read that! its interesting, and cause you're using short sentences and not actually saying whats going on!.!. its pulling the reader in!
i think you have true writing skills! and you definately know what makes a good book!
you are using descriptive techniques aswell which makes it sound really good! i have only read a paragraph but i have a feeling this whole book is going to be really worth reading!

Um!. Depends!. If it is an action book (like The Outsiders) I would read it!. If it is a historical-fiction book, I wouldn't read it at all!. If it is a Fantisy!.!.!.Maybe!
