And, just my take on the whole reason there aren't too many girl pro musicians (that do anything other than sing and shake their butt anyways)
I've noticed that guys tend to be more hairbrained and convinced that they will be a rock-star when they grow up!. Girls are a bit more realistic!. Well!.!.!. except for Imogen Heap, but she kind of made it!.
Some of the guys actually make it though!.
