That's really more up to you and how much time you want to put in!.!.!. in my experience though, you can learn songs and scales more quickly on the sax!.
Getting a sound out of sax is a little harder than on trumpet, but CONTROLLING it and changing notes is easier!.
And you're not stuck with either of them or any specific genre!.!.!. whether you play sax or trumpet, you can play in rock bands, jazz and big bands, marching, concert!.!.!. even ska (which is a blast, btw)!.
In the end, it depends on how much time you put in!.!.!. the better you get the more opportunities for fun you can have!
