Dave Matthews was the most popular acoustic rock guy in the 1990s!. John Mayer came along in that mold!.!.!.very similar vocal styles and all!. Mayer was younger and better looking and in the first decade of the 21st century he eclipsed Matthews!.
Both of them sing quite well in their style and write solid acoustic rock music!. I have listened to and enjoyed both of them!.
