Harry was just pretending-he wanted Hermione to see him 'put' Felix Felicis in Ron's drink, so it would make Ron think he was going to be lucky!. When you are about to take a math test and you are just sitting there thinking how badly you did on the practice test, then someone comes up and reminds you that you aced the pop quiz, you feel a bit better, it boosts your self esteem!.
