Question: How do i fix my clarinet!?!?
I have a Bflat clarinet made by OLDS!. It was working fine friday but later friday night if i tried to play a C it would go up an auctive!. The same for the other notes like C D E F G and B!. No pads are missing, and i had my band director look at it and he cant figure it out!. Does ANYONE have a suggestion on how to fix it!? i dont want to take it to a shopWww@Enter-QA@Com

I think the problem is in the reed-mouthpiece-ligature combination!. Try a few different reeds!. Make sure the reed is properly situated on the mouthpiece and that the ligature is tensioned properly!.

You say you try to play a C and it goes up an octave!. That would be highly unusual!. I think you mean it jumps to the next register!. Clarinets are based on "twelfths"!. That's why the fingering for a low C is different than a middle C!. On a saxophone the fingering would be the same, because saxes are based on "eighths", not twelfths!.

But anyway, unless the pad on your register key has fallen off, I'd look at the reed-mouthpiece-ligature!. Good luck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Check all the springs!. Reed!? Different Ligature!? Has your embouchure changed!? Post alignment!?
My best advice is to take it into the shop!. If it's too expensive most places will give you a quote before starting to work on it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
