Question: French Horn Question!?
Hey I play the french horn (I did level 1 NSMAA) I am wondering what are some good tips on getting the high notes easily and please help me on how to understand eight rests more!Www@Enter-QA@Com

High notes: LOTS OF AIR!!!!! and don't tense up too much!. Based on your level of playing (1 NSMAA) I wouldn't think you need to worry too much about high notes!. They will get easier as you play for longer!. Being able to play higher doesn't make you a better musician!.
Eighth notes: Get help from your band director and get a private teacher!. There is no substitute for someone who can watch you and tell you when you mess up and how to fix it!. But to give you a jump start eighth rests are not complicated!. They are exactly the same length as eighth NOTES except you don't make any sound on them!. So just be silent for the same length you would play for an eighth note!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
