No movie could ruin a book for me!. The reason they make movies out of them is because its easier to do that than come up with their own original idea and because there are A LOT of people out there that don't read!. It is faster to just watch the movie and people don't want to take the time out to read (maybe that is why there are so many people on yahoo that can't spell or complete a basic sentence)!. The truest statement that you will ever hear is "the book was better than the movie"!.
But there are positives - a lot of great movies came from books that I'm sure you've never read, such as Jaws, The Color Purple, Fight Club, The Lord of the Rings, and about a thousand more!.
also I thought Interview with the Vampire the movie was better than the book!. Anne Rice is a good writer but she is a little dry for my taste, plus she has so much build up and no climax and I'm sorry but I need a climax! :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

i tend to like movies made from books because i have no expectations of them being similar or the same as the book!. i view them as completely separate from each other!. if it's a crappy movie then it's a crappy movie no matter what, but if it's a decent movie, i tend to like it based on its own merits, not how "true to the book" it was!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I am not the best person to ask this question!.!.!.!. I don't tend to read the book and then see the movie :o) Honestly I rarely go to the movies but I love reading books to relax :o) I love a good action/drama/suspense/romance any day! But if I was going to answer this question I would say the answer is simple!.!.!. aside from the fact that a movie can only be so long!.!.!.!. It's all about the money - PERIOD!.
