I need a girl's help with a boy!!!?!

I'm a girl in the 8th grade and like a 7th grader!.My friend asked him If he liked me and he said yes!.She asked him if he wanted to get with me and he said yes!.Then I asked him if he wanted to get with me and he said that he promised a girl that he'll get with her,but she moved and she might come back!.we have band together and he always stares at me and we both avoid bumping into eachother!.he knows that i stare at him during recess and he looks at me and shows off!.is it really over!?what should i do!?we're both shy and really like eachother!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
