Inquiry about future?

i was born january 8th 1987 (same as elvis :P), and supposibly being a capricorn i'm supposed to be work oriented, but i feel more pleasure in the things i do outside of work, i would like to persue a better career but i'm finding it hard to have a goal or sety idea even when i real think about it it's blank, but being a cap it should'nt, soemtimes i have real doubts my sign really applies to how i really am, could it be the signs of my parents having an influence on me? my mom is aquarius and my dad is aries, does that make me different too, i would like to find out more about astrology but i don't want to spend money on the reports or w/e, could someone just clarify my sign some more and maybe career options assosiated with the personality of my sign and friend compatibilities cause i'm trying to find a gf too :P.thanks
