The two planets which normally cause difficult times are Saturn and Pluto.
Most of the Virgos I know who are going through really difficult times at the moment are experiencing a heavy Pluto transit to their Sun. The Virgos most affected are those that are born near the end of the sign, from around the 18th - 23rd September, or those who have a major planet (such as Mercury) or their Ascendant/Midheaven at around 25-28 degrees Virgo/Pisces. Pluto tends to cause all sorts of uncomfortable changes and transitions in the life over which the individual feels they have very little control. Those whose Mercury is being affected are experiencing difficulties in relation to their work and health, while those with Venus in Virgo are experiencing relationship problems.
Saturn is still transiting Leo at the moment and that would be affecting all those Virgos who have Leo planets in their charts (many Virgos have their Mercury and/or Venus in Leo) or those with a Leo or Aquarius Ascendant/Midheaven or Moon. Saturn causes restrictions, delays, pessimism, depression and, generally, hard times. I'm a Leo and I have Saturn right on top of my Sun at the moment and it's a total DOWNER. I can't wait for it to be over!
For many Virgos, the Pluto related problems will be over by the end of next year. Saturn, however, will be entering the sign of Virgo in September this year and will remain there for some time, so there is still this energy to deal with. Virgos most affected this year will be those born around the 30th August - 2nd September. These Virgos will feel the impact of Saturn on their Sun from November this year. The influence will continue until January 2008.
