I appreciate the answers received so far. I am also intuitive, have been able to predict 'things' using cartomancy but I do not understand how I do it, it just happens. Are a person born this way and is there really a way to develop it. I'd love to learn to understand this because I think it could be really used in a positive way but then again, does'nt it go against everything religion teaches us not to do? How can it be wrong if it is used to aid and empower those who need specific answers. Why, if it's a gift, does one need to get charged for it.

Answers:

Someone that claims to have paranormal abilities is one of the following:

1. A Liar. People do lie. Assuming that everyone in the paranormal community is trustworthy is a pipe dream. They will for various reasons but for attention and/or money would be a reason. Lots of scammers on Yahoo.
2. Mistaken or self-delusional.
3. Insane.
4. Telling the truth. Someone that does not fear any type of independent controlled testing because they can truthfully do what they claim. Without the use ANY type of excuses. Go to bat for you team, win the James Randi Educational Foundation million dollar prize.

The James Randi Educational Foundation offers a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event. The JREF does not involve itself in the testing procedure, other than helping to design the protocol and approving the conditions under which a test will take place. All tests are designed with the participation and approval of the applicant. In most cases, the applicant will be asked to perform a relatively simple preliminary test of the claim, which if successful, will be followed by the formal test. Preliminary tests are usually conducted by associates of the JREF at the site where the applicant lives. Upon success in the preliminary testing process, the "applicant" becomes a "claimant."

To date, no one has ever passed the preliminary tests.
