i just got a dog and my cat wont get out of her hideing spothow long will this last

as long as the dog does not chase her every time he sees her, she will relent after a while, its different with each situation, no set time for it.
make sure she gets time to use her litter box and eat and drink without fear. if theres a place to put the dog and talk to the cat and let her know things are okay it will really help.
one day they will both be in the same room without her ears laying back or walking all slinking.
