Any amount of birth information would have been helpful because sun signs are not the major points to review in compatibility charts. However, this is what I have based on sun signs only:

Aries is ruled by the planet Mars and Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter. They are both fire signs; which have the capability to be very compatible as long as one sign will be more flexible and submissive. Both Aries and Sagittarius are independent; which is a good trait; however being too independent is what will either make it or break it for this match.

Aries is more of a realist, easily angered, impatient, impulsive, and domineering many times presenting a "take it or leave it attitude" in an egotistical manner.

Sagittarius is more of an idealist with a driving adventurous spirit that is optimistically irresponsible. When they believe they are being slighted, rejected or reprimanded they will become cold, unemotional, unsympathetic, and unforgiving.

This couple could be on again off again friends for a long time. However, for long term they will need harmonious aspects between their Moons, Venus, Mars, and Mercury signs in their charts.
