My son is at a loose end, unable to find a fulfilling job.
What would be the first step? He would need training.
Answers:
its actually not that hard at all. if you can push a box and remember what plugs go where your set. thats really all their is to being a roadie. now, if your talking about like, guitar techs, or sound and light guys, they offer actual college courses for that. if those arent an option, check out a concert hall and ask if they take on interns or something. i know the cocert hall by me has people come in and take pictures during the concerts to put on the hall's website. and im so jelous, at the last concert i went to, for one of my favorite bands, the girl taking pictures actually was given the lead singer's jacket! like, i saw him take it off, hand it to her, and she put it on and wore it the rest of the show! so a good place to start would be checking with your local concert hall or whatever one is closest to you. ask if they have any jobs like that one i mentiond with the pictures. if he gets lucky he may meet band members who can help him out, or make friends with the sound guy. i made friends with the sound guy at a children of bodom concert, and ended up getting to hang out with the band for a bit
