Question:
If you're not into Astrology, then why?
... one thing that bothers me. I don't mind if people show a wee bit of interest in Astrology, but WHY, oh why, do *some* people always have to let people know that they "don't believe in astrology at all" but proudly tell anyone who wants to listen that they're such sign and such?
Maybe its just me, but I can sense some contradiction in those statements.
For the record; my mother and my brother were like that. I know not everyone who doesn't like astrology is like that, all I want to know is why do the people who actually do this, do this?

Personally I think you are running into a perfectly ordinary hypocrisy or contradiction. However, in their defense, people love labels. It's inherent in the human psyche to want to categorise, to name, to label everything - objects, emotions, and even ourselves. And even more than labels, people like fitting in. So by grabbing hold of a convenient label "Virgo", meaning a collection of characteristics, they both satisfy the urge to "fit" somewhere while at the same time labelling!
Feels good don't it? It's like absolution, only a lot less important.
