What do you know about Astrology?

Just a question. I've noticed people like to diss it and make other people believe it's all bs... but since they pass judgement like that, I am curious to know whether they know enough to actually pass judgement...

So go on, anyone - even the ones who don't pass bad judgement on astrology... - what do you know about astrology?

I clearly asked to share YOUR knowledge, not anyone else's, so no websites, just what YOU know, not what you remotely agree with because it starts out with the same opinion that you have...

AND I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO TELL ME THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN IT COS THAT'S NOT WHAT I ASKED!!!!

PS; people, I give out thumbs as you might have noticed - but not because I agree or don't agree with an answer - I give thumbs up to people who actually answer my question and thumbs down to people who preferred to ignore it and give their opinion, which I didn't ask for.

The term 'believer' only goes for religions or myths... I prefer not to worship planets and stars, thank you very much... o.O It's a "study", nothing more, nothing less.

PS; already read the website - the first thing that struck me was that the basis he started from - despite of being scientific - was to prove astrology wrong. He emphasised a couple times that astrology was completely wrong and honestly - with a completely objective research report, you won't have to emphasise; evidence goes without saying...

Right; what I know -

Arguably I do not believe that Astrology is the actual influence of planets on our persona. I think of it more as a coincidence, but there is a definite pattern. The zodiac wheel in my opinion has started its own life aside from the actual wheel 3000 years ago, when both still coincided - and that's the most common used wheel now. It's just been the same for all those years.

All the 7 planets besides Earth, 3 dwarf planets, the sun and moon are involved, and their placement tells you more about your character - never use astrology for predictive purposes because it always fails - and the sign which is on the horizon in the east have an effect on your personality. Planets and Dwarf planets which are closer to earth, obviously have more 'influence' on people. Especially the sun and the moon, and that sign on the horizon in the east when you were born.

That's what I know in short - more in depth would be involving houses. I'll pick a winner now :p

When I think of astrology I think of natal charts, so I'll just talk about those...

When people say astrology is crap because they don't match their sun sign enough, they're not taking into account the moon, ascendant, mercury or any other planet; what signs and houses they occupy, what aspects they form, etc...

You can think of a person's signs/houses/aspects as ingredients, the birth chart as the recipe and the person being charted as the finished product... different ingredients synthesize together in different ways... so for example, a vanilla cake and a German chocolate cake both contain the same basic ingredients (i.e. similar sun/moon combinations only), and they both taste like cake, but they're also very different. You could never mistake them for a steak dinner, but you wouldn't mistake them for each other either.

To me it doesn't matter that it can't be explained scientifically (at least not yet). Who cares how it works---how it could POSSIBLY work---so long as it DOES...

Some people are just way too pedantic in my opinion... it must be kind of depressing...
