There is a whale of difference. Earth rotates on an axis called axis of precession. This axis is around 23 degrees tilted from the vertical axis. When we see the planets the planets are at longitudes, added with this, therefore the actual placements are placements as seen minus 23 degrees. The westerners, do not deduct this. They base their predictions on solar signs, while we base it on Lunar signs. At thirty years the planets would have moved to the second house of their original positions.On these movements the future is predicted. In Hindu astrology, using dasha and bukthi and transits, future is predicted. The characteristics of each sign is borrowed from our astrology only. In Hindu Astrology there are remedial measures, and the same is absent in Western Astrology. All said and done prediction is usually intuitive.
