What's the deal with opposite signs?

For example: Aquarious is opposite Leo. Does this positioning generally create a magnetically-charged opposited-attract kind of friendship/relationship/etc?

Are there specific traits to look for in the opposite zodiac sign that encourage a successful relationship? Or are there consistent threats to the happiness of opposite-based friendships.

it's just how the signs are divided..how am i going to explain this to you..?.. ok let's say we have an order ARIES, TAURUS, GEMINI, CANCER.

first of all, notice how they are all differant elements=fire, earth, air, water.

second, they are divided into genders=AIR(gemini)&FIRE(aries... are masculine and EARH(taurus)&WATER(cancer) are feminine.

now come the QUALITIES: cardinal, fixed, mutable.

common characteristics for CARDINAL signs:action and drive; they have initiative and strong motivation. On a team, Cardinal Signs are the people who come up with ideas and get the project moving.

common characteristics for FIXED signs:determination and persistence; they are stable and self-reliant. On a team, Fixed Signs are the people who keep a project going and see it through to the end

common characteristics for MUTABLE signs:happy to fill an assigned role. Their common characteristics include adaptability and changeability; they are flexible and versatile. On a team, Mutable Signs adapt easily to changing conditions.

now let's go back to our order ARIES, TAURUS, GEMINI, CANCER... these signs also divide into CARDINAL, FIXED, MUTABLE and back to CARDINAL. if you want to go on to leo, virgo, libra, scorpio just continue that order= (leo)FIXED, (virgo)MUTABLE, (libra)CARDINAL, (scorpio)FIXED...

if you want to know who's opposite of what, there are 3 rules:
1-these signs must be the same gender
2-must have differant elements
3-must have the same quality

ie= aries and libra are BOTH masculine, both of differant elements (fire and air) and both are CARDINAL..so this makes them opposite.

then are leo and aquarius (if you continued the order). both are masculine signs, both are differant elements (fire and air) and both are FIXED signs.

then come virgo and pisces(if you continue the order). both are feminine, both are differant elements (earth and water), and both are MUTABLE..

in each pair..ie leo and aquarius, each sign has what the other lacks... they are not exact opposite but "polar"...meaning that they do have things in common but very little. in this case they both are extravogant, both love going out, they love being in a group but leo is warm hearted and loves to lead while aquarius loves being a part of a fellowship and can be a little cool.
