The moon moves approximately 13.5 degrees in a day. So depending on what day you were born, the Moon could have crossed from one sign to another.
So if you were born on a day where the moon didn't change signs, you could know what sign the Moon was in... however, if you were born on a day that the Moon changed signs, you wouldn't know without the time and place.
But it's always better to have a chart drawn with as accurate a birth time as possible. If you don't know the exact time, there's a process called "rectification" that can help, but this should be left to a professional Astrologer and is not something you can do visiting a website for interpretations.
