i mean about astrology. why earth is not a ruler That's a great question, actually. The only reason I can think of that the planet earth is not considered to be a ruling planet of one of the 12 zodiac signs is that we still consider ourselves (and the earth itself) to be at the center, around which all of the other inhabitants of the solar system revolve. Maybe it's because we are so self-consumed and self-possessed that we never imagined that the earth itself could be a ruling planet in one or more of the zodiac system of planets. Astrologers for centuries just simply ignored it. Maybe they weren't aware that they were on a planet to begin with. They just looked out into space, counted the planets in the solar system and assigned cosmic influences to them without ever realizing they were on a planet themselves. I guess there's no good answer to your question. Thanks for asking it though. there are 9 planets in the solar system, mercury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune, and pluto Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and (sometimes) Pluto...Last time I checked, Earth was the third on the list starting from the sun....

...so my question is, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Not to get technical, but now there's only 8 since Pluto is no longer a planet. it is Earth is included in the planets... just not Pluto since they declared it is no longer a planet... wtf is up with that? who the heck said that earth isnt a planet? You mean astrologically. Well, I'm guessing it wouldn't make much sense for Earth to be included as a planet which influences someone's character and destiny, because everyone lives on Earth, and therefore, no one is particularly influenced by it more than the person sitting next to them. OK, you are talking about astrology, not astronomy. I assume it is because astrology deals with how the other planets impact us here on earth at their rising and falling. Since we are on this planet, we can't see it rise and fall. But remember, astrology and horoscopes are not REAL science. maybe cuz we are on it.. Gravity on earth cancels out gravity's effect from other planets or the sun. Astrology is based in Geocentricism and an abandoned polytheistic religion of quirky gods.

There are only two known forces that can effect earth, either gravity or electromagnetism. Let's look briefly at both.

We know quite a bit about how gravity works on large scales, scales like that of the solar system. Basically, the gravity of an object depends on two things: how much mass it has, and how far away it is. The more massive an object, the stronger its gravity. The closer it is, the more its gravity affects you. That's all well and good, but we really need to put in numbers to analyze it. Why? Because, for example, Jupiter has about 25,000 times the mass of the Moon. That's a lot! But it's also about 1500 times farther away than the Moon at its closest. Which number wins in the game of gravity?
In this case, it's distance, by a long shot. But the bottom line is that at best, the gravity from the planets in our solar system is a tiny fraction of the Moon's. So if gravity were the force behind astrology, then the Moon would dominate all the planets combined. Yet it doesn't in any astrologer's horoscope.

As far as we know, every force weakens with distance. An object farther away has lesser force on you than something closer. Yet astrologers claim that all the planets have equal (or at least comparable) effects, so nearby Venus and distant Pluto both exert some sort of measurable tug on you (at least, measurable in the sense that they can affect your life somehow). This means, by the astrologers' own claims, distance must not be a factor with this force. Obviously, mass mustn't either, or else Jupiter would dominate the planets, and poor tiny Mercury would be left out.

See the whole link and about electomagnetism. Well they don't explicitly say that earth is the ruler of such and such sign, but the rising sign and the earth are considered to be the same thing. So if you were to say your rising sign was gemini, then that's also your "earth" sign, because that's the zodiac sign rising over the horizon at the time of birth. It is included in the horoscope. It's the circle with the x through it. well earth is at the centre of your astrological chart, its in every ones chart and its affect are on us all, we live on it for Christ sake. if you were to born on mars, it will be in every ones chart who was born there because you are born on it. the place you were born in is the centre of your universe. your planets simply mean where each one was at the time you were born. you can have several planets in one constellation at the time of your birth. but earth would be in every constellation because you are moving with it, the constellations are over our sky. Hmmm...nice question...i can't think of an answer actually but I wonder what the personality of that zodiac or person ruled by earth...if it has... I like the question. However, it's late where I am. I am trying to figure out a way to put it in layman's terms so I don't overwhelm you with TMI. So I will think on it and give you an answer later. In the meantime, get your chart done on line somewhere and print it out, if you haven't already so you have it available to sit down somewhere, or lay down in bed and hold it up over your head. It will be easier for you to understand when I explain it to you. And yes, earth does have a ruler, and it is in the chart. it can't be ruler, because we all live in planet earth.
