Lots of things impact who you are. Just because you're born under a certain sign doesn't mean that its written in stone that you have to be compatible with someone. I have completely hated many people I was supposed to get along with and have fantastic relationships with people horoscopes say I should avoid. If you live your life based solely on what other people tell you, then you're not really living "your" life.
Don't worry about it, its all out of whack anyway, the calendars have been changed three or four times over the centuries :) Read horoscopes for fun and find people who like you for who you are and then you will find the one you love.

if you're compatible with a sign it doesn't mean you'll be attracted to them straight away it just means you are suitable for eachother in the long run. you can be attracted to any sign!!

I see that you are attracted to the Water and Earth signs men. This probably has a lot to do with other influence from your birthchart. Since Gemini is sandwiched between Taurus (Earth) and Cancer(Water) on the zodiac wheel, there is excellent indication that one or more of the significant planets in your chart are in either Taurus or Cancer. Many individuals have personal 'love' planets such as Venus and/or Mars in either the preceding or following sign. Hence, it is very likely that your Venus is in Cancer or Taurus and since Venus determines the type of men you attract/are attracted to, it is not surprising that you go for the Water and Earth elements instead.
Alternatively, some other prominent planet such as the Moon or Ascendent may be in a Water or Earth sign.
