Question: is this true? i see they look kind of uncomfortable often, lie and (this is just what i've noticed) the girls are kind of willing to date anyone for the sake of having a boyfriend or hanging out with anyone for the sake of having a lot of friends.
not to mention, they're obsession with looks and not getting turned off when their partner has a crap personality? lol i know this is specific but it's what i've noticed.

I'm a Gemini and I find this is just part of the curious side of being dualistic in nature. It's not low self-esteem, but just that Geminis can become easily bored and get tired with things staying the same, which is why they are so adaptable to change.
As for hanging around and dating everyone, Geminis are the social butterflies of the Zodiac whose strengths lie in the Communication area.

No, that's not true, and your statements are very naive. Someone doesn't have low self esteem because they're a certain sign, it's because of their self image, and enviornment, plus other factors. That makes no sense to say millions of ppl born under the sign of gemini are going to be depressed. Plus your other views about gems aren't true either, all the gems I know have "too much" self esteem, rather than not having enough.
I think their actions are misinterpreted by most people. Low self-esteem to me is more of not feeling worthy of being liked or loved and avoidance of partnerships at all levels, in fear of being ridiculed or rejected.
The truth about Geminis is that since it is a mutable Air sign that relates primarily on the intellectual/mental level, socializing is like breathing to them and they tend to get invloved in all kinds of social interactions and circles from a young age. Even those with heavy stabilizing influences from the Water or Earth elements portray this trait, at least in their younger days before maturity.
They need to connect with others on an mental level and be constantly exposed to new faces and interactions as they generally have a low boredom threshold and short attention span. These superficial interactions are essential to their general state of well-being as being out of the social realm is like being a fish out of water for them. Because of their versatibility and accomodating natures, most are non-discrimating in their choice of friends/partners (at least in the younger days) as it's the experience that counts ultimately.
Maturity should bring more stability and sharpen their powers of discernment over the years.
