Well I think what is more important would be how you connect not so much you both being a Taurus, it is important to focus on how you feel when your with this person. I know two Taurus that meet as teenagers and have married after college had kids and are living a great life they still love each other very much, do not base your relations with anyone base on their zodiac sign, base it on how you feel in your heart about that person how that person makes you feel.

i am a taurus and both my grandparents were and were married for 40+ years.
Id say it can work because we work better together when we have the same values and ideas--however, when there is a difference of opinion it could get ugly because taurus is SOOO stubborn!!!
I think it works if both people can know how to come to solutions and try to argue diplomatically.
Trust me, it doesn't! I'm a Taurus, so this is coming from my personal experiences. Two Tauruses can have a lot of fun together and will have a lot in common when it comes to their idealogy on relationships, but they'll but heads. Taureans are extremely stubborn and they'll end up argueing and getting on eachother's nerves.
They fit like two bulls in a China Shop!
